MILL VALLEY, Marin County — November 4, 2026. The initial election-night tally for Mill Valley City Council listed Max Perrey and Stephen Burke in the race for two available seats. KQED’s county returns showed Perrey with 2,417 reported candidate selections and Burke with 2,332.
Results by candidate
At 11:13 p.m. November 3, Max Perrey had 2,417 votes (50.8%) and Stephen Burke had 2,332 (49.1%). The snapshot’s difference of 85 selections between the two does not establish a dispute over the second seat: the published race lists two seats and the two named candidates. Results are still unofficial.
What the ballot figures do and do not show
Percentages in a multiple-seat contest describe candidate selections. An election result with two ballot-listed candidates for two seats must not be sensationalized as a contest where one of the two necessarily loses. The county’s official canvass remains the mechanism for validating the totals.
What the council manages
Mill Valley’s council addresses municipal services, streets, parks, resilience to fires and storms, land use, and local budgets. Readers can follow county election reporting for updated vote counts, while separate local government records describe future policy decisions.
