MILL VALLEY, Marin County — October 31, 2026. Swimmers and people who regularly use the Mill Valley Community Center’s aquatic facilities should plan around a temporary closure. The Recreation Department says the pool and spa are closed from October 19 through the end of November 2026 for planned resurfacing and other maintenance.
Why the facilities are closed
The city’s Recreation Department page and closure notice identify resurfacing and additional maintenance as the reasons. The notice describes a planned facility project, not an emergency public-health closure, contamination finding or permanent discontinuation of aquatic programs.
When can swimmers return?
The published window runs through the end of November. That is a planned maintenance period rather than confirmation that the facilities will reopen at a particular hour on December 1. Residents should consult the latest Recreation update before scheduling lessons, exercise or a return trip.
What about memberships and other activities?
The announcement specifically concerns the pool and spa; it does not establish that the entire Community Center is closed. The city has not supplied a universal refund or make-up-class rule in the short closure notice. Individuals with passes or registrations should contact the department to confirm how their programs are affected.
Where to check
Mill Valley Recreation is based at 180 Camino Alto and lists 415-383-1370 as its public contact number. Current schedules, programs and opening notices appear on the official Recreation page. Do not rely on a recurring swimming timetable that predates October 19.
